Feintechnik

Feintechnik GmbH, based in Eisfeld, is an established manufacturer of razor blades with strong growth potential. The organisation specializes in the production of high-end wet shaving razors. These products are sold to supermarket chains, drug stores and discounters, which offer these under their own brand names.

Alpine Equity bought 100% of the company during  2007 with the view to provide capital and management direction in order to create an international springboard for growth. 

Using the skills and experience of the Alpine Equity team, Feintechnik produces more than a billion razor blades per year and is one of the largest independent manufacturers of razor systems for private labels worldwide.

Alpine Equity delivered a Leveraged Buy out of the business in 2007 as part of a. complete takeover from an Italian family business.

Benefit to the company

Using the finance and committed experience of the Alpine Equity team, allowed expansion of production capacity development of new products. modernization of production facilities and machinery so the business was fit to meet the needs of its new global customer base.

Achievements

We demonstrated and delivered rapid growth in turnover since 2007 through the setup of an international sales department and the introduction of the new 5-blade razor. This can be quantified with reference to the  turnover, which for example in 2010, was € 44 million

which grew from baseline at the time of the acquisition of € 21 million.
